Make the Connection

On Thursday, June 28 Kaydee Puppets will be here entertain and educate us about Virginia's early days. What a great way to celebrate Virginia's 400th anniversary! The event, entitled "Colonial Connection" is part of the 2007 Summer Reading Program. It will start at 2 p.m. and it is free.

A Tale to Tell

Storyteller Jane Crouse entertained listeners on June 21 with mountain tales as part of the 2007 Summer Reading Program at Smoot. Crouse also featured several musical instruments as part of the free event. The next event of the program will feature KayDee Puppets "Colonial Connection." Children's events are held every Thursday at 2 p.m. through August 2.

Appalachian Tales

Storyteller Jane Crouse will be here Thursday, June 21 at 2 p.m. for "Appalachian Tales." She will also feature several instruments. Crouse will kick off the 2007 Summer Reading Program - "T.J. Reader's Virginia Trails." The Summer Reading Program runs through July 30. Those ages 0 to 12 can register at any point during the summer at the library. Events will be held every Thursday at 2 p.m. and are free. Happy reading!

Strike a Pose

King George teens practiced the ancient postures of yoga with Certified Fitness Specialist Paula Van Alstine. The relaxing event kicked off the 2007 Teen Summer Reading Program. The theme of this summer's program is Lost in Time. Registration for the program is ongoing and will run through July 30. Next Tuesday's event is Lost in a Good Book, featuring "Book Jeopardy." It starts at 2 p.m. All events are free and open to those ages 12 to 18. We hope to see you there!

Lost in Yourself

Experience the relaxing and healthful rewards of yoga and listen to new age music. Certified Fitness Specialist Paula Van Alstine will be here for the first event for the Teen Summer Reading Program - Lost in Time. The program is free and starts at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 19.

2007 Summer Reading Programs



Registration for the 2007 Summer Reading Programs start today! The theme for the children's program is T.J. Reader's Virginia Trails. Those 0 to 12 can enjoy programs every Thursday at 2 p.m. starting June 21. Lost in Time is the 2007 teen program theme and events will be held Tuesdays at 2 p.m. starting June 19. Stop in the library for registration materials and a complete list of program events. All events are free and prizes will be awarded. Make reading part of your summer fun!
